When we
began planning our trip to Hidden Beach Resort (http://www.hiddenbeachresort.com), we had never been to a nude resort
other than our Mira Vista Resort in Tucson, Arizona. This is the resort we
joined just a year ago which we frequent once or twice a month (depending on
weather and time allowance). Now, don’t get me wrong, Mira Vista is quaint,
even beautiful, in a desert landscape sort of way… But all-inclusive luxury
resort it is not.
As the time
of our departure drew nearer, we were getting more and more excited over the
prospect of enjoying a relaxing week at a tropical resort. Weeks before we
left, we went to Mira Vista for a weekend get-away. A couple we had never met
overheard discussion in the conversation pool regarding our upcoming trip to
Hidden Beach Resort. They said they had just returned from there, and though it
was nice, they stated they were disappointed they had to go there rather than
“Club O” (alias for Club Orient, in St. Martin Caribbean). They said nice
things about HBR, but never failed to compare how HBR fell short of the elegance
and opulence of “Club O”. The sheets were more elegant, the grounds were more
beautiful and better cared for, the staff more accommodating, and the lavish
treatment they encountered there was just so much better according to them. I
was careful to convey that our expectations were pretty modest since we hadn’t
experienced any other nude resort outside of Mira Vista. They did assure me it
was nice however, just not as nice, but we would definitely like it.
I don’t want
to say anything negative about this couple, for they seemed very nice and I’m
sure they only wanted to be helpful. But what we found at HBR couldn’t have been
further from what this couple described as far as satisfaction with this
resort. One thing they seemed to continuously give reference to was the ability
to just raise their empty glass in the air and it would immediately be filled.
My husband
had reserved a lovely swim-up room for our stay. He was so excited about our
good fortune, to have gotten this choice locale in the resort and the ability
to walk out of our room, into the water, and swim up to the pool side bar,
needless to say he was in seventh heaven. However, this couple didn’t seem to think
much of having to swim up to the bar to get a drink, it was such an
inconvenience, remember, at Club O, just raise your glass and it was filled.
Well, I think you get the picture of the recommendation we were given by them
regarding HBR. I can’t fault them; maybe their lifestyle was more grandiose than
ours. I guess it’s all just a matter of perspectives.

From the moment we walked up to the entrance, we were greeted with the beautiful smiles of the most genuinely hospitable staff I have ever encountered. “Welcome home” greeted us at every turn. We were unable to carry a thing, open a single door, move a chair or reach for an item without a staff member stepping up and saying, “Please, allow me”. The staff at HBR made our every wish their command, hustling about to meet our every desire. They remembered our names and sweetly followed them with “Mi Amor”.
From our
perspective…We had the time of our lives and have never been treated more
lavishly. We have already booked our return trip for next year.
